Justification
NRWB has high water losses averaging 35% as compared to the sector benchmark of 25%. NRWB has divided its water supply networks into DMAs for ease of monitoring NRW. With this, NRWB is able to determine the level of NRW in each DMA at the end of the month. This process of monitoring NRW to facilitate corrective actions is not automated to support prompt and proactive response. Installation of DMA smart metering system will enable NRWB to monitor NRW in real time and therefore proactively respond to the trends thereby reducing NRW.
